Fun with Friends

Last night I went to our Women's Event at our church.
The title was "Emmanuel, God With Us" and our speaker
was Jean McClure. She spoke about the birth of Jesus,
the ministry of Jesus as a young boy and how people
around him noticed him. People recognized Him as
God as long as they were "looking" for Him. He spoke
truth and read from Isaiah in the temple. I love these
verses that came from the mouth of Jesus that day:

"The Spirit of the LORD is upon Me,
Because He has anointed Me
To preach the gospel to the poor;
He has sent me to heal the brokenhearted,
To proclaim liberty to the captives
And recovery of sight to the blind,
To set at liberty those who are oppressed;
To proclaim the acceptable year of the LORD."
(Luke 4 & Isaiah 61)

These words are so powerful! Such truth is spoken.
They are the words of Isaiah, then Jesus spoke
these words, and for every believer who has the
Holy Spirit living inside of them, these are
the words for us. God wants to use us to
"preach the gospel to the poor" and "heal
the brokenhearted". He wants us to "proclaim
liberty to those who are oppressed" and
to help people "see"! Our God is so good
and there is no better time to reflect on
His perfect love than at Christmas-time. The
greatest gift (Jesus) was sent so that we could
receive the ultimate gift (eternal life with God).

Merry Christmas!

I love these friends: they are beautiful inside & out!
