Wounded Warriors Softball

Here are some pictures from our
awesome weekend in Florida:
FCA All-Stars
vs
Wounded Warriors Amputee
Softball Team

 These guys are studs!
They make me proud to be an
American!  So many have
sacrificed so much for our
freedom and I will always
be grateful to the men and
women who serve and to
their families!
 We were all competitors on
the field!  We beat them 2 out
of 3 games, but it was CLOSE
in that third game!  I didn't
have much power but found
a way to put the ball over the
infielder's head!
 The team was amazing:
Olympians, College All-
Americans, Hall of Famer
from Slow Pitch, Former
Pro Baseball!

field
Our jerseys were auctioned
off and we were able to take
pictures with people who
chose our jerseys! Coutney
came all the way from MA
to FL to watch us play!
And we had met before
at Jennie Finch's camp
in New York!

This was such an
inspirational event for
all of us.  We also held
a banquet where we
heard testimonies from
both teams.  God was
the center of this event
and one of the highlights
was praying for all the
Wounded Warriors as
a group!

Where has January gone?

Time is going too fast!  It won't slow down.
I guess I can say I am living life to the
fullest.  The majority of my time, I'm
being mommy to my boys and wife
to my hubby.

We have started 2nd semester with
school with the boys and we are
right on track.  They go to school
2 days a week, so on their days
homeschooling with me, we pile
up the work to make sure we
accomplish all we need to in
language, writing, math, history,
science, Bible and all that other
fun stuff.  Some days I just want
to quit (and so do my boys!) ,but
at the end of the day, I am glad
we got the work done and we
have the hard part that day behind
us.

This past weekend, I was out
in Mission Viejo for softball camp
with Jennie Finch again.  It was a
beautiful weekend and we had
so many adorable little girls working
hard to become better athletes!
Cal Baptist Softball helped us run
our stations and were such great
leaders!

Jake and Drew played out at
the park all day Saturday and
Sunday while we did the clinic
and so did Jennie's son, Ace,
and Toni's son, Easton.  We
all have boys, so it's fun to
get some girl time out on the
softball field :).

Tommy came out on Sunday to
the park and brought Luke.
He had fun giving me a hard
time around my softball friends
and finally had a chance to see
what we do at Jennie's clinics.
He misses those days when he
was able to hang out with all
my softball friends.

I was also grateful to
share a Bible devotion on Sunday
morning about "Being God's
Representatives to those around
us."

Jennie is such a godly example to
the young girls and it has been
amazing to stand up next to her
and for both of us to proclaim
our love for Jesus.  We hope
many young girls will see God's
love and work in our lives and
that they will be encouraged with
His truth.

I also learned of a young softball
player who was recently told she
will never play softball again
because she has a brain tumor.
She is only 14 years old and I
hope you will join me in praying
for Hunter.  We don't understand
all of the sickness and struggles
that surround us, but when we
put our hope in Jesus, He will
carry us through ALL of life's
trials.

Every day is a gift.  Life it to the
fullest and love those around you.
Living for God and living out
His plan gives us purpose in
everything we do and to everyone
we are around.  Have a wonderful
day!

Happy Birthday MOM. . .Suprise!!!!

We threw my mom a Surprise B-day
party because she turned the big
"60"!!!!

Amy did a great job on the
decorations.  My aunt, Kathi,
helped with all the details and
Jessica and I worked with
the menu for the night.  It
all worked out great.

My wonderful friend, Kristi, and her
husband, Josh, graciously opened their
house to us so we could have the
party there!

My mom was completely shocked.

We had friends and family
there who have been a big
part of our lives at different
time periods.  I love the fact
that all of us are friends for a
lifetime!

We were excited to do this for
her because she is always making
everyone else feel loved and special
and we wanted to return that feeling
to her!

Happy Birthday MOM.

We LOVE you!!!

a busy new year. . .

I have hit the ground running here in
2012!  We are only a week and a
half in and here's what we've been
up to so far:
*Celebrated our 13th Wedding
Anniversary
*Sent off Tommy's parents
back to Boston (we all miss
them already)
*I did a coaches clinic for
a local league
*the boys started back up
school
*Tommy worked a baseball
show
*We went to Ruth Chris is
Anaheim w/USSSA and
Don Dedonatis (I told Tommy
that was my anniversary gift
to him :)
*We threw a SURPRISE
party for my mom!
*I went to my Bible study
*I met with our President
of Sports World when he
was in town
*I went to Calvary Chapel
Bible College in Murrieta
w/Women's Care Center
for a few hours
*I've had meetings for a
girls event we are doing
late spring/early summer

So now I leave on my 1st
flight of 2012 to Tampa, FL
tomorrow
for the God & Country
Softball Game:
FCA Softball All-Stars
vs
Wounded Warriors

I know this is going to be a great
event.  I already met a couple of the
guys we'll be competing against and
they were so cool.  Not only do they
play as amputees, they have an
amazing attitude about life and they
are the ones who are the heroes in
our country!

Next week, I fly to Texas to tape
some video for a Vacation Bible
School I'm going to be a part of
in June.  I'm pretty excited about
that appearance!

And the weekend after, it's time
for another Jennie Finch Softball
Clinic, but this time in Mission
Viejo! I'm hoping we get a lot
of girls to come- we all have such
a great time at these clinics.

Life is always busy, but I make
sure to slow down enough to
spend time with what matters
most: reading God's Word and
my family.  It's been super fun
to read the One Year Bible
every day with Jake.  He loves
listening and we always have
good discussions about what
we are reading.  And I've been
trying to get some working out
back in my schedule, so I jump
on my treadmill when I can!
I gotta get back in shape one
of these days :)

Happy 2012

 Happy New Year!!!! 2012
Hope you have a wild and
crazy year. . .in a good way :)

13 years of marriage!
We believe marriage is designed
by God and although we still
have things to learn and changes
to make, we choose to love
eachother for life til death
do us part!

Every year we celebrate our
wedding anniversary, we
celebrate another birthday for
my mom on the same day:
Jan 3.
Happy Birthday Mom!
You are so loved!!!
Nana and Papa had to fly back
to Boston.  We all enjoyed
having them here in Ca!

Happy New Year!!!!  It's 2012
and another year means many
new beginnings for a lot of
people!

I think it's always great to look
back on the previous year and
reflect!  Time goes by so fast
and it's nice to think about all the
struggles that we overcame or the
experiences we had with loved
ones and much more.

I love that we celebrate the birth of
Jesus at the end of the year because
if we can get focused on the birth
of the Savior of the world, that
should get our perspective in the
right place for a new year.  I look
forward to what 2012 holds for
my family and me.  I know one
thing, life is never boring in my
house!!!

We will start out by celebrating
my mom's birthday and my
13th Wedding Anniversary on
the same day: January 3.  Then
it will get busy around here as
we continue to homeschool and
as I start traveling again and
doing softball clinics here in
So. Ca.  God is so good! I
love what I do, but more
importantly, I love God and
the people He has placed in
my life!

I am reading the One Year
Bible ESV and doing the
Jesus Calling devotions with
my kids.  I know if I will
spend time with the Lord,
then I will be much more
effective doing everything
He has placed before me!

Happy 2012!!!!

Here are a few pictures from
this Christmas:
