Co-op: Here we come!

This is my 3rd year homeschooling and I know a
bunch of people who homeschool. The past couple
years some of us would get together for holidays and
have a party with all the kids. This year, a few of
us decided to make it a once-a-week meeting and
added subjects. Twice a month we will be doing
classwork (Bible, Science and/or Geography, and
PE). The other two meetings will be service
projects and field trips. Today was our first
day meeting and it went great! We had 10 students,
3 little students (ages 3 and 4) and Luke (2)
just watched everybody. I started with Bible
and we went over John 15:1-8 (Jesus is the Vine
and we are the branches). I gave each of them
a bunch of grapes and we talked about producing
fruit and what that looks like as a Christian.

Then my sister-in-law Jessica taught about the
Human Body and covered Skin and Pores. The kids
even looked through a microscope.

Sabrina taught the little ones about manners. They
were cutting and pasting pictures about manners and
they helped prepare the snack for the day (fruit,
pretzels and popcorn).

Heather took class pictures and will be putting
together a yearbook for us. She also took the pictures
for the passports we will do for geography.

The little learners presented what they learned to
the older kids and talked about manners. Then they
picked somebody to demostrate what they were talking about.

We had snack time

And we finished up with kickball at the park!

I'm looking forward to working with this group.
The kids had a great time and it's good to hear
different ideas from other moms.
